22.0302 Sycamore’s School Board approves a new role: Supervisor of Gifted Programming

I know it has been pretty quiet on the GEAR website and email lately. After the holidays came and went, I had fully intended to catchup and send out a Newsletter to update everyone. To quote Robert Burns or John Steinbeck, “The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry.” My whole January disappeared in a COVID haze and February passed in a frenzy of activity in recovering and catching up! Now we’re in March and to kick off the month we have exciting news!!

At the School board meeting this morning, Chad Lewis (Superintendent) and Kelly Wegener (Assistant Superintendent) proposed the role of a new Supervisor of Gifted Programming. If you happen to be watching the recording, this happens around the 3hour mark. (!!!) It was discussed and approved by the board which means we should have someone filling this role in the near future!

Thank you to the Sycamore School Board for recognizing the needs of our Gifted Children!

Axolotls are unusual among amphibians in that they reach adulthood without undergoing metamorphosis.  They are used extensively in scientific research due to their ability to regenerate limbs, gills and parts of their eyes and brains. As of 2021 they are considered Critically Endangered. (Wikipedia)
